Travel Styles

Every vanlifer has different goals and desires. These often play out in how we travel. There's no one-size-fits-all map in this adventure; instead, there's a kaleidoscope of travel styles, each as distinct as our fingerprints.

While this is in no way an official list, it does give you an idea of different travel styles. You will find what works best for you and it will likely be a combination of styles.

Slow Traveling: When traveling slowly, you may stay in one area for a week or more at a time. You may do this as a way to save money on gas or as a way to truly get to know what it’s like to live in a certain place.

Adventure Traveling: Climbing, hiking, wing foiling – whatever it is that gives you that rush of adrenalin is what you are traveling towards next. Life is full of thrilling challenges, and you are bound to chase them all.

Life on Your Own Terms Traveling: You are determined to find a way to combine work and travel. No more 9-5 Corporate work, you want to work when you want to and where you want to!

Nomadic Traveling: You are traveling without a fixed itinerary, embracing the freedom of the open road. A true Free-Spirited Wander going where the wind blows your soul.

Nature Traveling: You are a seeker of serenity. Van life for you is a quest for peace and tranquility, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. You want to wake up each day surrounded by trees and birds rather than houses and cars.

“See and Do It All” Traveling: Moving quickly and rarely staying in one place for more than a few days at a time. You want to experience all the things! You likely have a bucket list of items you want to check off.

Whether you find solace in the slow and steady, thrill in the call of adventure, carve out freedom on your own terms, wander with the wind, seek refuge in nature’s embrace, or yearn to see and do it all – know that this journey is yours, and it is beautiful.
